The Liddle Farm is a small working farm located in the heart of the Catskill Mountains and is run by Richard and Jenny Liddle of Halcottsville, NY. Richard and Jenny have worked for more than 30 years to produce high quality grass-fed beef in a sustainable and humane manner.
At the Liddle Farm, the animals are raised in the most humane way possible. The animals have access to 120 acres of pasture to freely graze on, and their diet is 100% grass. The beef is completely free of antibiotics and hormones, and is USDA inspected and packaged.
We strive to be as environmentally friendly and sustainable when living on the farm. We have put in small efforts to reduce our carbon footprint such as using cow manure for fertilizer, composting, and growing our own produce during the summer months. Our larger sustainability project consists of getting the farm to run completely on solar energy which is currently in the making.
Additionally, our farm is located in the New York City Watershed and we are working with the Watershed Agriculture Council to use best management practice (BMP) for water quality. In doing so, we are able to help conserve the water quality and extinguish any harm that the farm runoff would have on the water.
